WOW!! Can you believe that Advanced Vitality has been serving our Community for 10 years! In reflecting back on these past 10 years it fills me with a huge sense of pride and satisfaction. Let me take this opportunity to share a little piece of Advanced Vitality History.
When I graduated Chiropractic College in 2010 I was convinced I wanted to be a sports chiropractor and work ONLY with athletes and injuries. After a couple years of working at different clinics, one of my teachers from Chiropractic College reached out to me with an opportunity in Brampton. I met with the owner Dr. Maureen Henderson and shortly thereafter began working in our current clinic but it looked much different back then (some of you will remember!!!) My associateship with Dr. Henderson lasted from 2012-2014 when she decided to sell the practice to me.
The next couple of years were a blurr! I bought the practice in January 2014, Chris and I got married in September and found out we were pregnant with twins in December! It was certainly not our plan, but we made it work! Dr. Henderson covered for my maternity leave in June-July 2015 and I came back in August to start the exciting project of building a practice and a home for my career! Around the same time I was introduced the pediatric and prenatal realm of chiropractic and started my 3 years journey getting certified with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
From 2015 until 2020 I set to building our clinic from a part-time, pain-based chiropractic clinic into a full-time multi-disciplinary family health clinic - but I didn't do it alone! The "family" in family health clinic was evident by the involvement from both my husband Chris and my sister Lyndsay. While my husband got to work on the back-end helping to build us a website, upgrade our technology and developing an operating system, my sister and I took on the task getting the word out to our community! To this day, my sister (who has since moved to Bowmanville but still comes to Brampton to get adjusted regularly) is a massive chiropractic advocate. I often joke that she should set up a "finders fee" with the local chiropractors for the amount of kids, parents and families that she sends to them!
Along the way, I was blessed with the opportunity to work with 2 of the most amazing and skilled Registered Massage Therapists / Athletic Therapists - Ladie Ramos and Kelly Walsh! We were young women, looking to make our mark in the health industry and together we made an unstoppable team! Both of these women were highly dedicated to providing the highest quality of care and if you've been lucky enough to be on their table, you can attest to how amazing they were at their jobs. As life would have it, both of these talented providers have moved north and added babies to their families and I'm lucky to catch up with them from time to time.
When covid hit in 2020 it was 2 months into Dr. Tamara joining the team - and I was worried that we might lose her as our business took a hit. Fortunately, as one of the few chiropractors open in the early days of the pandemic, we became the 'go-to' place for quality chiropractic care!
Since then it's been a steady climb upward. We've quickly become the most popular chiropractic clinic in the Brampton community for prenatal and pediatric care. We've invested in further education and technology to make our quality of care the bench mark in chiropractic industry. The addition of her experience and knowledge has been enormous for our clinic members and community!
Through these 10 years we've celebrated milestone birthdays, weddings, babies, graduations, new homes and so much more - and to me, it still feels like we are just getting started. We've had incredible people supporting this business full-time, part-time, on summer breaks from university and we've even inspired some to go to Chiropractic College and become Chiropractors! So-far the team work has made the dream work! I have so many exciting things I want to bring to this community and it all centers around you and giving you and your families the most incredible experience in health care that others are inspired to match! Our kids need it and our families need it!
It has been the BEST growth experience for me! 10 years ago I was just starting. I didn't have kids and didn't know the first thing about pregnancy or breast feeding or baby milestones. I was decent at adjusting but certainly didn't know the neurofunctional bit. I quickly learned there was a major gap in health care when it came to supporting women, families and kids. It wasn't merely about making sure they were within the "healthy" standards, it was about launching this movement to make sure they were the BEST they could be. I wanted to challenge the accepted standards in medicine and the delivery of care. I wanted to bring ALL the information and knowledge to the front lines - the moms and dads and babies! And you let me do that, you trusted me and for that, I am forever grateful.
I have received some of the most impactful and memorable experiences and advice from you while you got adjusted. You've shaped me as a human, a wife, a mother and chiropractor, one conversation at time and you probably didn't even know it. I hear people say things like "nobody likes their job" ... but I do!

I like how you take care of me too!
